INTRODUCING
Pediatric OT Services
Playful, practical support that meets your child where they are.
Your child has unique needs. They deserve support that builds on their strengths and interests while addressing real challenges like difficult transitions, anxiety, or coordination problems.
When challenging behaviours happen, we need to explore the “why’s” and build the basic skills and supports that can help.
My therapy assistant and I provide neuro-affirming pediatric occupational therapy services to help your child grow while honouring the special person they are.
Our Approach
We work in a fun, motivating way to support children and teens in developing skills for everyday life.
We believe that behaviour happens for a reason, and that children do well when they can. These are the principles that guide every session.
We start with your child’s interests and natural ways of moving and playing, weaving skill-building into activities that feel good and make sense to them.
As we learn with your child, we find what works best for them and share strategies with you. You’ll get practical tools that support your child’s growth while respecting their differences.
Together we work towards change such as:
- Smoother daily routines
- Improved movement skills and comfort with physical activities
- Stronger self-understanding and social confidence
- Better emotional understanding and coping skills for anxiety and big feelings
- Skill-building that uses proven methods, is science-based, and celebrates your child’s interests and strengths
We can help with:
Daily Living Skills
Movement and Motor Skills
Sensory Processing and Interoception
Methods used include: Sensory processing and sensory modulation strategies, Interoception Curriculum, play-based learning.
Anxiety and Emotional Regulation
Thinking Skills: Attention, Planning, Problem-Solving
Challenging Behaviour
These are general areas of focus. Reach out to discuss your child’s specific needs.
Details that matter
Play that helps: We use games, stories, and creative play to support focus, connection, movement, and emotional regulation.
Practice in real places: For older kids, we work on life skills like cooking and planning in the environments where they’ll actually use them, building confidence and independence.
Connection, not compliance: Growth happens through trust and co-regulation, not pressure. We move at your child’s pace and focus on building readiness for facing challenges, with support.
Skills that last: We support skills, confidence and self-understanding in ways your child can carry into everyday life.

Coaching and Consultative Support for Parents:
If direct therapy isn’t possible right now because of money, location, or scheduling, I also offer parent consultation and coaching. These sessions are focused, supportive, and helpful.
For some issues like anxiety and attention, parent-led strategies can be very important, even for children who are in therapy.
We’ll talk about what’s going well, what feels hard, and explore ideas that fit your child’s growth and your family’s daily life. This can include home activities, exercises, and custom strategies that match your child’s needs.
You’ll leave with simple, respectful ideas you can use right away.

Part 2: Initial Assessment
Pre-session review of your child’s documentation and history.
50 minute virtual or in-person assessment adapted to your child’s age and needs. We’ll develop a personalized plan, so you have clarity about next steps.

Part 3: Ongoing Support
Regular pediatric occupational therapy sessions focus on building skills and helping your child reach their goals, whether through direct therapy or parent consultation.
Hi There!
I’m Kathleen
I bring a creative, collaborative approach to understanding how each person’s physical, emotional, and sensory experiences connect. As a parent, I know what it’s like when your child has unique needs and how hard it is to decide who to trust with their care.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours for pediatric OT services?
Where do you provide services for kids?
Most services for kids happen at your home or in the community. We can meet in-school depending on the type of service needed and the school’s support.
Some services for older children and teens can be done online through video calls.
Please contact us to discuss what will work best for your child.
What ages do you work with?
Most of our OT services are for kids who are 6 years old and up. We also work a lot with tweens and teens.
For some issues, we can help younger kids too. Please contact us to ask about your child’s needs.
Can you write a letter to recommend equipment for OAP funding?
I can write letters for equipment and materials that are part of your child’s therapy or parent-led services with me. Together, we can pick items that fit your child’s interests and are backed by research to help meet their needs and goals.
I don’t sell “letters only” by themselves because I want to make sure any equipment I suggest is part of a good therapy plan that truly supports your child’s needs.
