Psychotherapy

Evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety

You’ve been struggling with anxious thoughts, perfectionism, or rituals that feel impossible to control. You’ve tried everything you can think of, but you’re still feeling stuck.

You deserve effective support that fits your specific needs. My approach focuses on practical strategies, deeper self-understanding, and using your strengths to handle both present struggles and future stress with more confidence.

What I Help With

My psychotherapy practice focuses on OCD therapy as well as treatment for issues like anxiety, perfectionism, stress, and young adult life transitions.

I use proven methods like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), adapted to fit your needs.

OCD in particular requires specialized treatment. While many forms of therapy can help with various issues, OCD responds best to specific approaches like ERP. When OCD overlaps with other neurodivergence, treatment can still be effective, but highly tailored support is very important.

I bring personal and professional experience with neurodivergence, anxiety, and OCD to our work. My training includes the BTTI and Advanced Forum (“Flexibility within Fidelity: Adapting Treatment for Client Factors including Neurodivergence”) from IOCDF.

Together we work towards change such as:

  • Managing intrusive thoughts without being controlled by them
  • Reducing behaviours that limit your life
  • Building confidence to face uncertainty and imperfection
  • Creating lasting skills for future challenges

Hi There!

I’m Kathleen

I’m someone who loves getting curious about how people work. I took a long path to becoming an OT, and my own journey taught me what it’s like when nothing seems to work for you. I try to provide the type of support I wish I had during challenging times in my own life.

Before starting my private practice in 2024, I spent over 10 years working in public mental health services, helping people understand how their bodies and minds work, and learning with them along the way.

In addition to my training as an occupational therapist, I’ve done extensive training in the practice of psychotherapy, in particular Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and treatment of OCD.
